Digital Healthcare System in the Azores Region
Indra develops the Digital Healthcare Information System for the Azores Region (SISARD). The system integrates healthcare management and that of human resources, materials and finances of the Azores healthcare system, as well as information management for citizens.

The geographic dispersion of this region makes it especially useful to establish a system that combines each citizen's clinical information into a single record so that professionals may consult and add information from any center visited by the patient. The system speeds up appointment assignments thanks to the management of medical schedules, allowing the patient to request an appointment by phone or through the Internet, and the primary doctor may refer the patient directly to a specialist from his or her own consultation, simplifying the process and reducing waiting times.
The system also improves the coordination of the various teams that participate in patient diagnosis and treatment. In this manner, service is improved and treatment effectiveness is increased, reducing its cost and avoiding having the patient return for the same cause.
Additionally, the structured information management make it possible to access statistical information that supports research, decision making, and epidemic control, among other advantages.
To the clinical management offered by SISARD, the administrative management of resources, materials and finances is added, which will improve hospital management, optimizing the healthcare investment in the region and increasing the quality of the service provided to citizens.
