ESIM project for ENEL
ENEL is the most important electric company in Italy and the second most important Utility company in Europe. ENEL is an integrated operator, with presence in the electricity and gas generation, distribution and sale business. It can be found in 23 countries and renders services to 60.5 million customers.
Additionally, ENEL is the second natural gas operator within the Italian market, with about 2.7 million customers and 10% of the market volume.

Project Goal
Replace all the operation support tools used by each Italian plant with a (single) integrated system to achieve the following benefits:
- Real-time information integration, supported by PI at the operation support processes.
- Managing all the ENEL capacity/availability in an efficient and integrated way.
- Standardization of the operation support processes so that all the plants perform the same procedures, use the same language, and have at their disposal homogeneous information and ratios.
- Integration of the management processes at plants and central offices, through the unification of the tools for plant operation support, monitoring and planning.
- Improving environmental management.
- Optimizing facilities maintenance, integrating the operation support processes with the maintenance processes and the plant revision management.
- Reducing the operation and maintenance costs of the management systems.
