epSOS European eHealth Project

Indra participates in the European health project called ‘Smart Open Services for European Patients’ (epSOS), which aims to connect the European Union's healthcare systems. Its focus is to develop a linear health framework that provides secure access to the patient's healthcare information and to test the interoperability of the various systems, specifically regarding the summarized medical history (patient summary) and electronic prescription (e-prescription).

EpSOS

With an initial budget of 23 million euros, the project is co-financed by the European Commission within the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP). Led by a consortium formed by twelve European Union member countries and 27 beneficiaries, epSOS counts on the participation of national healthcare ministries, competency centees, social insurance institutions, and regional healthcare systems, as well as scientific institutions and top players from Europe's healthcare industry.

All of the agents involved fall under three different sectors: participating nations, beneficiaries, and the "Industry Team", formed by 32 European companies, among which Indra is the only Spanish member, given its extensive experience in the Healthcare and Public Administrations markets. The technological company has also contributed one of the seven Steering Group's representatives, which is responsible for coordinating the actions to be carried out within epSOS.
