Hong Kong Maritime Control Center
In 2007 Indra was awarded the project to supply the sea-surveillance system for the special administrative region of Hong Kong. It is a new surveillance system (SIVE) that is integrated with the current maritime traffic control system.
In order to expand the current system, six sensor stations will be located in the region with thermal cameras that will enable observation of vessels, both by day and night, and in bad weather.
The administrative region of Hong Kong consists of a continental zone and over 200 islands, some of which are very small. This makes surveillance and control in the area very complicated.
Hong Kong is one of the most important ports in the world for cargo shipments, ship traffic and passenger transport.
This project is similar to the ones carried out by Indra Sistemas in Spain for the Civil Coast Guard patrol.
