Mobile Number Portability made easier
At Indra we develop and manage the new platform that will make portability easier for users. Currently, each time a user wants to change company, he or she must request the number portability to the previous operator and the rest of telco operators must update their information accordingly.
With the new model that Indra will put in place, a single step will be necessary by requesting the number change to the central node or registry, which will in turn provide the number and perform the associated changes.
The Fixed Telephony Reference Entity, which manages land telephone number portability, and the Comisión del Mercado de Telecomunicaciones (CMT - Spain's Telecommunications Market Regulatory Agency) will also be able to consult the registry's information. Indra was entrusted the project by the Mobile Portability Association of Spain.
In Spain, 18 million users have already changed operator. This represents a significant reference for Indra, since these 18 million users who have changed mobile operator place our country at the top in the European Union in terms of portability.
