Operations Assistance and Passenger Information Systems (OAS/PIS)
The (OAS/PIS) provides tools that make it possible to carry out an exhaustive follow-up of the transportation network in order to improve the social service offered to citizens and optimize the metropolitan transport network scheduling.
Among its primary functions, the following stand out:
- Improving the entire management of passenger transport.
- Automatic centralization of operations information with the corresponding creation of statistical reports.
- Availability of status information in real time.
- Localization of all the vehicles through a graphical interface and on digital cartography of the area of operation.
The system also makes it possible to increase the quality of the service offered to passengers, improving the regularity of the lines in terms of arrival times at the stops and vehicle occupancy, and providing passengers all of the quality information regarding the service in real time.
The (OAS/PIS)is primarily made up of:
On board devices:
- Central Processing Unit (CPU) responsible for managing communications with the Control Center and the GPS localization, as well as controlling other on-board devices.
- Driver console: operating interface between the driver and the OAS system, which primary function is to manage the service start-up and line operation processes.
Information devices:
- Signage inside the vehicle
- Signage outside the vehicle
- On-board loudspeaker system
The Management and Control Center is the core of the operations assistance and passenger information systems. Its primary functions are:
- Management of the information generated by the system's activity. Controlling and managing vehicle status.
- Control and monitoring the system.
- Configuration andcustomization of the system.
- Information panels located at the stations, stops and/or shelters provide passengers all of the information related to the service.
