Air traffic surveillance network in Turkey

Turkey's State Airport Authority (DHMI) has awarded Indra a contract for the modernization of the air traffic surveillance network.

The new network will be equipped with 18 mode S secondary surveillance radars that automatically question aircrafts in order to gather additional information regarding their identification and flight altitude. It will also include five S-band primary radar systems that will cover the country's entire air space and locate the presence of any aircraft. The new radar network will cover the country's entire air space.

The modernization of the network will allow to expand the air traffic management capacity of the country's airports.
