Sales and Revenue Accounting for GOL Airlines

GOL started as the first low cost airline in Latin America in 2001. Given its fast growth, the company needed to implement a Revenue Control System with the following objectives: 1) strengthen the balance sheet, 2) obtain greater control over sales operations with travel agencies and credit card transactions, 3) automate and administrate interline billing processes, 4) integrate and manage international sales and other sales (GDS) and 5) provide management information for the Sales and Planning Department and Senior management. In July 2008 a BPO service agreement for all Revenue Accounting processes using the SuitAir platform was signed.

Scope of the project

  • Revenue Accounting BPO using ARACS FX.
  • Development of specific functions for processing sales transactions made on Gol's Reservation system: Navitaire’s New Skies.
  • Special treatment of ticketless concept - issue of etickets using PNRs.
  • Special functions for the control and follow up of refunds and exchanges.
  • B2B invoicing processes.
  • Reconciliation module for credit card sales.
  • Interline billing service via the IATA ICH
  • Domestic interline billing service in Brazil (SNEA).
  • Integration of accounting operations with Oracle FI.
