10 Principles We Are Committed To

In 2004, Indra signed the United Nations’ Global Compact. The United Nations Global Compact is an ethical commitment initiative so that companies in all of the countries will adopt, as an integral part of their strategy and their operations, ten principles of conduct and action regarding human rights, labour standards and the environment.

1Principio Principle One. Companies should support and respect the protection of internationally acknowledged basic human rights within their sphere of influence.

2Principle Two.
Companies should ensure they are not accomplices to human rights abuses.

3Principle Three.
Companies should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective negotiation.

4Principle Four.
Companies should uphold the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour.

5Principle Five.
Companies should support the abolition of child labour.

6Principle Six.
Companies should support the abolition of employment and occupation discrimination practices.

7Principle Seven.
Companies should favour a preventive approach to environmental risk.

8Principle Eight.
Companies should foster initiatives that promote greater environmental responsibility.

9Principle Nine.
Companies should encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

Just as is required in the Global Compact, Indra periodically prepares a progress report regarding the advances obtained in establishing the 10 principles.
