Main policies and initiatives in effect:

  • Supplier pre-qualification: Indra has a procedure for assessing suppliers on their economic, social and environmental performances for pre-qualification purposes.
  • Supplier evaluation: Indra assesses the performance of a sample of suppliers on an annual basis.
  • Supplier Guiding Principles: establishing the desired framework relationship between Indra and its suppliers.
  • Supplier satisfaction surveys: tracking the level of supplier satisfaction with Indra.
  • Suppliers Code of Ethics: Extends the basic ethical commitments Indra along the value chain.

Here at Indra we are aware that our longevity as a company depends not only on our own performance but also on that of our entire value chain. This is why we see our supplier relationships as key.

Here at Indra we seek out the top suppliers in terms of quality and sustainable development in a bid to develop stable and mutually beneficial relationships with them.

Against this backdrop, we attempt to structure our supplier relationships around two priorities:

  • Incorporating supplier feedback: Indra surveys its suppliers between the fourth and first quarter of each year. The results are published in the company’s Annual Report. Indra uses the results of these surveys to identify areas for improvement and as the basis for designing initiatives for inclusion in its Business Plan.
  • Promotion of social responsibility and sustainable development principles on the part of our suppliers: in 2004, we defined our Supplier Guiding Principles with the aim of promoting responsible conduct, including social and environmental criteria, on the part of our suppliers. These business principles will be rounded out in 2010 with the Suppliers Ethics Code which Indra is using to urge its suppliers to commit to basic ethics principles.
