At Mobile World Congress 2015, held in Barcelona until Thursday March 5, Indra is showcasing its COMSec-VIP system, a powerful solution designed to protect data exchanged using mobile devices by major corporations, executives and senior government figures.
The system guarantees secure voice and data transmission over any commercial operator network. The solution is compatible with an extensive range of conventional mobile devices, such as the iPhone, iPad and numerous Samsung and Nokia cell phones and tablets, and will work with the most popular operating systems, such as iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8 and Windows OS.
The service encrypts end-to-end communications, using a different random password for each call and session. COMSec-VIP stands head and shoulders above other solutions thanks to its ease of use, user experience and advanced instant messaging and video functions. The quality of the system means mobile devices can efficiently be used on limited broadband networks and even when coverage is poor.
Furthermore, it is impossible for calls to be traced as the system only sends IP packets with their own protocols and encryption. The system is based on an application that can be installed on the user's mobile device and a virtual operator (IMS) to manage calls. The entire solution can be installed on the firm or organization's systems, ensuring full autonomy.
Not only does the system offer individual voice services (VoIP), but also supports group communications, instant messaging (IM) - both for individuals and groups -, videoconferencing and sending videos, images and files.
The system is designed to allow users to create secure conference rooms or set up work teams to tackle crisis situations, for example. All this over corporate networks and the Internet, via practically any network (2G/3G/4G/LTE/WiFi/ satellite networks), ensuring the service can be used from any country.
The solution's flexibility and simplicity are among its main benefits, making its use identical to that of conventional cell phones.
Indra has already supplied the system to a number of government organizations, some of Spain's leading firms and the governments and Defense Ministries of other countries. The company was recently awarded a contract to deploy such a service for the Spanish Customs Service.
Now, for the first time, the company is showcasing its COMSec-VIP solution at Mobile World Congress, seeking to boost international sales as part of its global business model.
