Indra has won a new contract in Brazil worth 23 million Brazilian Real (about €7 million) to implement the new integrated business management platform that will provide support to the corporate and business areas of CEB Distribuçao, the electricity distributor for Brasilia and one of the largest in the Federal District. The company is part of CEB (Companhia Energética de Brasília), a holding of seven companies undertaking different activities in the Federal District's energy sector.  

The project will use SAP technology and will facilitate the automation and integrated management of key areas including works and project management, maintenance, financial accounting, cost control, people management and procurement. It will also incorporate tools of analysis, reporting and data interpretation (Business Intelligence, Analytics and Warehouse) providing valuable information to the company's management team as well as electronic invoice processing solutions. The company will provide a comprehensive service, ranging from consulting, planning, design and construction tasks for the solution to user training, technical support and maintenance.

The main benefits include obtaining an overview of CEB Distribuçao's back-office and business processes, reduced operating costs and a more fluid management and flexible control. The solution will provide support to some 1,200 company users. 

Leadership in the Brazilian energy market

The new contract strengthens Indra's positioning in Brazil's energy sector, where more than 40 electricity companies have adopted its technology solutions The multinational has been a technology partner of the Petrobras energy group for more than six years, running a number of IT development and management projects in several of this Brazilian group's companies, like Liquigas and Transpetro, and providing specialized Oil & Gas services. Its recent contracts include implementation of inGEN – its technology for the integrated management and operation of power stations – in the Brazilian giant's thermoelectric plant.
