Irene, psychologist, specializes in organizations

I am coordinating HR operations of Indra branches abroad

I´m from

Spain.

I studied

Psychology, Organisational specialty (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid [Autonomous University of Madrid]).

I travelled to

Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

A custom that surprised me:

The importance they place on personal space. Better to not greet them effusively: They find that extremely unsettling.

My favourite place:

How you can get anywhere on a bike.

The greatest difficulty I encountered and how I resolved it:

Lodging, is scarce and very expensive. The university itself gives you written advice on how to squat in a residence so that you don't have to sleep in the street. In the end it was a question of luck... I won a room in a lottery!

What you need to know in order to interact well:

Dutch people don't like to waste time.

You can´t leave without

Visiting the Great Dike which, with its 32 km length, is a classic work of modern engineering and, of course, the tulip fields in springtime.

What I learned during my international experience that has most helped me at Indra.

Besides improving my English, learning to work with people with very different ideas and rhythms.

A recommendation for people willing to live the experience.

It would be hard to find treasons to not do it!
