Indra, the premier IT company in Spain and a leading IT multinational in Europe inaugurates the new offices in Ciudad de Panama today. The event will be attended by Santiago Roura, Indra's Operations Manager and Paloma López Costa, Manager of the areas of Central America and the Caribbean. They will report about the career, challenges and projects of the company at international levels, especially in Panama, since it is where the company is based for operations in Central America and the Caribbean.

he Vice-minister of Commerce and Industry of Panama, Miguel Ángel Clare; Spain’s ambassador in Panama, José Manuel López Barrón de Labra and the councillor for economic and financial affairs of the Spanish embassy in Panama, José Manuel Fernandez de Mata will also attend the event.

Currently, Indra’s main activities belong to the Transport and Traffic, Energy, Finance, Security and Public administrations sectors. However, the company is currently developing software and working on making of Software Lab an Off Shore software factory, that is, a remote supplier to different markets of Latin America.

Indra has been involved in emblematic projects in the country; such as the air traffic control systems for the Panamanian Civil Aeronautics Authority, the modernisation of the information management systems for the Maritime Authorities of Panama (APM) which brings together the world’s largest fleet or currently the development of a public transportation system for the old quarters of the city of Panama, which has been declared UNESCO world heritage site.

Central America is a strategic region for Indra. It possesses a strong growth potential and Indra aims at becoming the first IT company.
