  • The company stands out among technology systems companies as the only company in the sector of Software and Services that has been in business uninterruptedly since 2006, despite the increasing requirements and competences to be part of the DJSI World
  • Indra has improved its overall rating, and also in aspects such as corporate governance, eco-efficiency and climate strategy, thus positioning among the best companies in human capital development, labor practices, innovation management and fiscal strategy
  • Indra's constant effort to improve its economic, social and environmental performance is recognized by the company’s inclusion in the two main global sustainability indexes, and also by being part of the FTSE4Good, with the highest rating in good governance and anti-corruption

Indra once again makes it in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World, being this the 14th year that the company is included in this global index of reference in sustainability.

Although the requirements to be included and stay in this index increase every year and competition is greater, Indra has managed to remain in the ranking since its entry in 2006, a unique achievement among companies in the sector of Software and Services technology that makes Indra a reference company in sustainability.

The continuous inclusion of Indra in the DJSI World means recognition of its commitment to the creation of value and to the continuous performance improvement in economic, social and environmental areas (ESG-Environmental, Social and Governance) and reaffirms the company as one of the global leaders in sustainability.

This leadership is also supported by another top index ranking the corporate responsibility of companies, the FTSE4Good, which has included Indra for the fourth consecutive year and has given it the highest score in corporate governance and anti-corruption measures because of the efforts made by the company in the past few years to strengthen its culture of compliance.

In this 2019/2020 edition of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, Indra was one of the 16 companies in the “Software and Services” industry that was included in the Index, and one of the five European companies, out of the 156 companies in the entire sector worldwide that were invited to participate. Indra is also one of the 15 Spanish companies members of the DJSI World.

Indra has improved its overall score by two points and, compared to the average of “Software and Services” companies, it stands out in aspects such as human capital development, labor practices, innovation management and fiscal strategy.

The company has also managed to significantly improve its score in the corporate governance, eco-efficiency and climate strategy chapters.

This is evidence of Indra's effort to continue improving its corporate governance and environmental commitment, as well as to transform its culture, placing people at the center of its strategy and promoting innovation, diversity, flexibility, training, professional development and regulatory compliance, among others.

“We congratulate Indra for being included in the DJSI World. The SAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment has once again raised the bar in identifying those companies that are best positioned to address future challenges and sustainability opportunities. This year, which marks the 20th anniversary of DJSI, the record of companies interested in SAM's corporate sustainability assessment reflects the lasting relevance of DJSI to measure and advance in ESG practices”, explains Manjit Jus, Director of ESG Indexes at RobecoSAM.

Among the most responsible companies

The DJSI World index, prepared with the S&P DJI methodology by RobecoSAM, an investment firm specializing in sustainability, has chosen a 10% of the 2,500 largest companies worldwide that rank as the most socially responsible because of their good performance.

The group of indexes that make up the Dow Jones Sustainability Index has been prepared since 1999 with information previously requested from the companies with the highest market capitalization, and it is a reference for the business and financial sectors. The information and data necessary to evaluate the incorporation of a company to the DJSI World are obtained from the analysis of a comprehensive questionnaire and the available public information of the companies. To these data, a set of rules is applied to convert an average of 1,000 data points per company into a global score, which determines the inclusion in the Index. Companies that are included in the DJSI are publicly recognized as leaders in the social, environmental and high economic activity areas.
