Indra has renewed its presence on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World, making for 13 uninterrupted years on this leading global index in sustainability. It is also the only company in the IT and Internet Services sector that has remained on the ranking since its entry in 2006.
The DJSI World is an index with a large fluctuation, given that the entry and permanence requirements evolve and every passing year there is greater demand and more competition. The continuity of Indra as one of the leading companies on a global scale means the recognition of its commitment to creating value and long-term sustainability, as well as its commitment to the continued improvement of its performance in economic, social and environmental areas.
In the 2018/2019 edition, Indra was one of 11 companies in its sector included in the Index, out of the 98 companies from around the world invited to participate. Compared to the industry average, Indra stands out notably in aspects such as innovation and customer relationship management, the development of human capital, labor practices or codes of conduct.
The company has succeeded in significantly improving its score in the categories of fiscal strategy, risk and crisis management, human rights, corporate citizenship and social action, as well as eco-efficiency in the workplace.
The DJSI World Index, developed by the investment firm RobecoSAM specialized in sustainability, uses the methodology of S&P DJI to choose the 317 most socially responsible companies from among the 2,500 largest companies in the world.
The family of indexes that make up the Dow Jones Sustainability Index has been developed since 1999 with information previously requested from companies with the highest market capitalization, and is a leading index for the business and financial sectors. The information and data required to evaluate the incorporation of a company to the DJSI World are obtained from the analysis of a lengthy questionnaire and the company’s public information, to which rules are applied to convert an average of 600 data points per company in a global score, which determines its inclusion in the Index. The companies that become part of the DJSI are publicly recognized as leaders in social and environmental areas with a high level of economic activity.
