Indra’s Board of Directors has appointed Ignacio Mataix as Executive Director of the Company. He will be responsible for the T&D business (which comprises Defense and Security, Transport and Air Traffic Management). Ignacio Mataix, who will join Indra next February 19, will report directly to the Chairman and CEO, Fernando Abril-Martorell.

Thus, the Company completes the implementation of its new management structure, which seeks to increase results orientation and strategic flexibility, add greater value to the product portfolio, accelerate the commercial transformation in order to increase sales orientation, and keep improving productivity in order to increase competitiveness and margins.

In this sense, on December 21, 2017, Indra announced the appointment of Cristina Ruiz Ortega as Executive Director, responsible for the TI business.

Ignacio Mataix will fill the vacancy left on the Board of Directors after the resignation presented today by Juan March de la Lastra (proprietary director representing the shareholding interest of Corporación Financiera Alba)  to meet his professional commitments as a result of a redistribution of functions within the Alba group. Corporación Financiera Alba will continue represented in the Board of Directors by Santos Martínez-Conde.

Ignacio Mataix (55), boasts a long and varied professional career, having held senior level positions in large multinational investment banks, leading engineering companies and high-tech manufacturers. His first job was at ABN Amro Bank, where he became Managing Director in London. In 2000, he was appointed General Manager of Corporate Development of SENER. In 2004, he joined ITP (Industria de Turbo Propulsores) as group CEO. Under his management, the company has grown consistently, becoming a global leader. He holds a Dual Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Business Administration and Management and Law (ICADE) and a Master’s Degree, CEO International Programme (IESE Business School).
