At Indra, we have been calculating and verifying our carbon footprint voluntarily since 2009.

This indicator allows us to design the main climate strategies and set emission reduction targets.

Carbon Footprint (tCO2 eq) 2019 2020 2021 2022 2023
Scope 1: direct CO2 emissions from gas, diesel and refrigerant gases 2,733 1,764 1,759 1,681 2,035
Scope 2: indirect CO2 emissions for electricity consumption (market based) 6,198 2,923 1,897 1,211 1,182
Scope 3: indirect CO2 emissions for the value chain 507,063 375,417 335,583 378,127 430,129

Decarbonization strategy

The energy consumption emissions (scope 1 and 2 emissions) account for 0.7% of the total Carbon Footprint of Indra and indirect emissions from the value chain (scope 3 emissions) account for 99.3% of the Carbon Footprint of the company (2023 data). To reduce the Carbon Footprint our main lines of action are:

Efficient air-conditioning in workplaces and optimized electricity consumption through energy efficiency measures (0.7% contribution to emissions reduction)

Increasing the purchase of green energy (6.7% contribution to emissions reduction)

Including environmental criteria in purchases from suppliers (32.8% contribution to emissions reduction)

Reducing business travel and commuting (59.8% contribution to emissions reduction)

We participate in the CDP Climate Change

Since 2010 we have been collaborating with the CDP Climate Change initiative, the most prestigious index on climate change, which provides global information on the management of risks and opportunities identified by the largest companies worldwide.

In the 2023 edition we obtained the an A- score. This result reflects our strong commitment to the fight against climate change.

CDP's recognition values the integration of climate change into business strategy, transparency in communicating climate change and the relationship with the climate change value chain.
