Born in Valladolid in 1971

She holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (2002) and CEO at Marsi Bionics.

With an outstanding professional career that travels from research at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas to technological entrepreneurship with the founding of Marsi Bionics in 2013. He has led the strategy of transferring robotic medical devices to the market and has positioned the company as a benchmark for technological entrepreneurship with social impact.

She carried out his research training at the CSIC with stays in prestigious foreign research centers such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The results of her doctoral thesis have been cited in the prestigious Springer Handbook of Robotics, as well as in several international scientific journals. Her work in robotics applied to healthcare, including the development of the first pediatric exoskeleton, has given rise to 4 patent families, licensed and extended internationally to the USA and Europe. Dr. Garcia Armada has published a total of 120 scientific papers.

She has deep knowledge and experience in Technology, Robotics and AI, IoT, from design to market transfer. Strong academic background and extensive experience in research and technology management.

Among her 54 distinctions are the Queen Letizia National Disabilty Award, the Red Cross Gold Medal and the Gold Medal of the City of Madrid. She has been invested Doctor Honoris Causa by the European University Miguel de Cervantes.

Ms. García has represented Spanish science on important committees: as a member of the Consejo Rector de la Agencia Estatal de Investigación, she is a Full Academician of the Real Academia de Ingeniería, a member of the jury of the Princess of Asturias Awards for Scientific and Technical Research and a member of the Strategic Committee of the Women and Engineering program of the Real Academia de Ingeniería. Internationally, she has been a member of the Industrial Activities Board of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, among other committees.
