Indra maintains relations with a wide range of associations and foundations that respond to different purposes such as:

  • Developing the company's political, economic and social intelligence
  • Increase the company's external visibility, improve positioning, and protect and enhance reputation
  • Put in practice Indra's open innovation approach through the development of innovation projects
  • Collaborate in social action programs for the benefit of the local communities in which the company operates .

These relations with associations and foundations are reported annually through the company Sustainability Report.

In some cases, the associations or foundations with which Indra collaborates have among their legal mandates the consultative function with state bodies on public policies carried out by the government (as is the case, for example, with the Spanish Chamber of Commerce). Therefore, law protects the influencing actions conducted by a company like Indra through these institutions and they constitute the only external interlocutor of the company before the regulator.

Indra is not aware of having collaborated with any type of organisation whose purpose could be understood as political influence and, therefore, has not contributed to lobbying, interest representation or similar organisations; to political campaigns, organisations or candidates; or any other expenditure associated with political influence.

When Indra establishes agreements with associations of diverse types, or carries out direct management with governments or their representatives abroad, it ensures that the influence activities are carried out under the same principles of cooperation and transparency that are contemplated in Indra's Code of Ethics and Legal Compliance.

In particular, the Code of Ethics and Legal Compliance sets out the following obligations for Indra’s employees in this regard:

  • The prohibition of donations to political parties: the Code of Ethics and Legal Compliance prohibits any direct or indirect financing of political parties, their representatives or candidates..
  • The prohibition of facilitating payments and restrictions on business gifts: under an appendix on business gifts, the Code of Ethics and Legal Compliance prohibits so called facilitating payments and limits the conditions and amounts in which Indra employees are allowed to offer business gifts to public officials.

As the Code of Ethics and Legal Compliance sets out, Indra’s internal procedures and processes include certain additional control measures relating to the engagement of politically exposed persons, given the greater risk of bribery and corruption to which these kinds of relations are subject. In any case, Indra is committed to complying with the legislation in force regarding transparency of lobbying activities. .
